Park Royal – TV Studio

This three studio TV Broadcast centre in North London, is the largest new TV studio to be constructed for several years in London.

The main studio, measuring over 10,000 sq/ft, incorporates all LED lighting suspended on several motorised lighting gantries. A separate and dedicated energy centre was constructed housing three 1MVA 11kV generators, three 800kW air cooled chillers, three UPS systems of 2MVA total capacity and 11 LV switchboards. A new 11kV electrical supply was brought into the site and integrated with the standby generator system for no-break seamless transfer back to mains following a power outage. Being located within a residential area, high acoustic criteria was imposed on the design, together with a desire to be aesthetically pleasing, hence the living wall exterior to the energy centre.
